Getting what you need isn’t always pretty

I’ve been faced with some challenges and a little bit of change. I’m in what Martha Beck refers to as Square 1. The mantra here is: “I don’t know what the hell is going on, and that’s ok.” Sometimes it doesn’t feel ok though; it feels really crappy! Here’s a snippet of some of the small stuff that’s gone on: my website was under construction for most of January (making that just over 2 months altogether!), my dog got fleas, business has been slower, and I had to cancel a trip for a retreat (that was given to me as a Christmas present) because of a snowstorm. (I’ll save the big stuff for another day.) The small stuff can be super stressful if we let it. I’ve had days where I’ve questioned whether I’m doing the right thing by being an entrepreneur. I keep making lists of things I ‘need’ to do, and although I am getting lots accomplished, it still feels like there is a lot to do. Life seems very doom and gloom when viewed from this perspective (with the ‘I’ll never _______’ mindset). My brain has been very active as the ego is fighting to keep itself alive.
