You are what you think!

Thoughts are things – very big things. They can make you- or break you. If you believe you can do something, you are likely to achieve it. Likewise, the opposite is true. (If you believe you can’t, you won’t.) A lack of belief in yourself or your ability or in what you are capable of having can create your reality. These beliefs might sound like: “It’s not possible to have a job I love AND make great money.”, “There are no good men (or women) left. I’ll never have the kind of romantic relationship I want.”, “It costs a lot of money to eat healthy.”, “I can’t afford to go on a big vacation.” This is the lack mindset, and these thoughts carry a very low vibration (energetically). We do not attract the good stuff when we are in a low vibrational state. This means we don’t attract what we want – we attract what we are (which is often what we actually don’t want). So, see if you can bend those beliefs just a little… “It IS possible to have a job I love AND make great money.”, “There are good men (and women) everywhere. I am looking forward to meeting them.”, “It costs a lot of money to be sick.”, “I can start saving for a big vacation.” There, don’t those thoughts FEEL better?! Now, look for examples (or proof) of how these better feeling are really true (i.e. people you know of who have been successful in these areas or small ways to move toward your goals). How can we make the world a better place?

A better place awaits – you’ll see.” –Glen Campbell (A Better Place) Each one of us can talk about our pain, our struggles, our upsets in life, our disappointments, our moments of despair – because we’ve all been through some sort of trauma or hardship. We might think ours was more difficult than someone else’s or vice versa, but hard is just hard – no better or no worse. Sometimes life just looks like a big pile of crap, and when you are in it, it sucks. It sucks regardless of whether you know for a fact that it’s temporary and won’t last. It sucks because sometimes you can’t “fix it” – all you can do is sit with the anguish and wait for it to dissipate. There is often no way of knowing when it will show up in your life and no way of knowing when it will be over, but things which happened in our past CAN be healed. As ‘they’ say: “Time heals everything.” Give time time. When time has worked its magic, you can look back on life with greater clarity. (I’m sure many of us have thought “If I only knew then what I know now” at some point in our life.) Often this happens when people are on their death beds – or at least later in life. Finding sunshine on a rainy day

“I can see clearly now, the rain is gone. I can see all obstacles in my way. Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind. It’s gonna be a bright (bright) bright (bright) sunshiny day.” -I Can See Clearly Now (Jimmy Cliff) A few weeks ago, I planted some tomato, basil, and cilantro seeds in a tiny pot and mini greenhouses. Much to my amazement, they actually started growing!! As they grew taller, I noticed that they began shifting towards the window – towards the sunshine. I knew plants did this, but I hadn’t seen it in a while, and it struck me how everything in nature does what it needs to survive and live an optimal life. Humans are the exception here on Earth. Humans are the only animals who focus on the struggle long after it’s gone. We spend hours, days, even years re-living the past. We re-tell our painful stories over and over – sometimes to the point where we don’t have the capacity to even feel joy anymore (because we are still trying to numb the pain from the old event, which simultaneously blocks happiness from entering our lives). We also spend a great deal of time worrying about the future, asking the hypothetical “What if…?” question and causing ourselves unnecessary stress and grief.
