Every day CAN be this good! #grateful

“And it’s a great day to be alive. I know the sun’s still shining when I close my eyes.  There’s some hard times in the neighborhood, but why can’t every day be just this good?” -It’s a Great Day to be Alive (Travis Tritt) I recently spent a week in San Diego, California (for a little R&R and to attend the biannual Martha Beck Life Coaches Summit). It was absolute bliss (and a huge hug fest)! I got to connect with a bunch of the people I did my coach training with (and made some new friends too)! Surrounding myself with like-minded, non-judgemental, authentic people not only feels comforting; it serves as a great reminder for benefits of practicing gratitude. Too often we can become overwhelmed with what’s not going right in our lives (and the world at large). For example: ‘I will be happy when I lose weight/get a better job/meet the right person – fill in the blank.’ However, happiness doesn’t come just by getting the things you don’t have; it comes from appreciating what you already do have. What happens when we feed into the lack and scarcity mentality is that we actually create more of it. The Universe responds to us, and since it doesn’t know the difference between “positive” or “negative” thoughts, whatever we focus on expands. Look for the good, and you will find it. Look for the bad, and you’ll find that too. Why not use your imagination to manifest what you want?! “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more.
